Microporous Tape

Microporous tape is a lightweight, breathable adhesive tape widely used in medical settings for securing dressings, bandages, or medical devices to the skin. Made from a porous, non-woven material—typically a blend of rayon or cellulose with a hypoallergenic adhesive—it allows air and moisture to pass through, reducing the risk of skin irritation or maceration. The tape is gentle on the skin, making it ideal for patients with sensitive or fragile skin, such as the elderly or infants. It is easy to tear by hand, flexible, and conforms well to body contours, ensuring a secure yet comfortable fit. 

Microporous tape is commonly used for minor wound care, taping gauze, or fixing lightweight tubes (e.g., IV lines). While it provides reliable adhesion, it is not waterproof and may loosen with heavy perspiration or exposure to moisture, making it best suited for short-term, low-stress applications.
