1. Types of Syringes
A. With Needle (Prefilled or Sterile)
Luer Lock with Needle – Secure needle attachment, prevents slipping (common for injections).

Slip Tip with Needle – Needle slides onto syringe (easier to attach/remove).

Fixed Needle Syringes – Integrated needle (often used in insulin syringes).

B. Without Needle
Luer Slip (Slip Tip) – Smooth taper for easy needle attachment (used with detachable needles).

Luer Lock – Threaded tip for secure needle connection (prevents leaks in high-pressure uses).

Catheter Tip – Wider, tapered tip (for oral/enteral use or irrigation).

Eccentric Tip – Off-center tip (used for surface injections like IV starts).

2. Packaging Types
A. PE Pack (Polyethylene Pack – Plastic Bag/Sealed Pouch)
Common for bulk syringes (e.g., 100 pieces per pack).

Cost-effective, lightweight.

Often used in hospitals/clinics for large-scale use.

B. Blister Pack (Individual Sterile Packaging)
Each syringe is sealed in a sterile blister (plastic + foil).

Prevents contamination, ideal for single-use.

Common in retail pharmacies or single-dose applications.

Common Applications:
Luer Lock Syringes – IV medications, vaccines, viscous fluids.

Slip Tip Syringes – General injections, low-pressure uses.
